I approached Ascenta about doing a product review and I was very impressed with the companies prompt service. Not only were they very happy to help me but the product arrived swiftly and right to my door. Ascenta offers a variety of liquid Omega 3 vitamins in a variety of flavors. I was interested initially in the Mango flavored NutraSea formula but I thought it would be in my bodies best interest to supplement with vitamin D now that the days are getting shorter. Even the idea of those shorter days depresses me... this is why I need the vitamin D. I feel SO good in the summer.
The product comes packaged in a 200 ml amber bottle and should last for approximately 40 adult doses. The product is safe for children aged 1 - 13. The dose for children is half that of an adult dose, allowing for 80 doses per bottle. The product should be stored away from light and heat and it is important to refrigerate and consume the product within 100 days of opening. Since it is flavored it is easy to forget that it is a fish oil. The texture will remind you that it is indeed an oil and not apple juice. When you open the bottle the smell of the apple hits you immediately. There is no fishy taste whatsoever. If the texture of the oil bothers you still, I recommend drizzling your serving on a small salad where you might not notice it as much. I didn't have any problems taking it as it is but I realize there are sensitive pallets. My husband quite enjoyed it and was impressed that it contained good cholesterol.
